What is MEDIATION?
Mediation is an informal opportunity for parties to reach their own agreements, thereby avoiding a court hearing. The role of the Mediator is to help the parties negotiate an agreement while the parties receive advice from their individual attorneys. Mediation sessions are typically scheduled in either half day or full day increments.
WHY MEDIATION?
pRIVACY
Mediation sessions are confidential and are held in private conference rooms or on Zoom instead of having a public court hearing.
INFORMAL
We have the opportunity to work through all of the issues at your pace and have a conversation about how to find solutions instead of your matter being heard in the formality of a courtroom.
YOU PARTICIPATE IN DECISIONS
The parties make the decisions with guidance from their attorneys and the Mediator instead of allowing a judge to make decisions for them.
MEDIATION FEES
The Mediator is paid hourly, with fees typically divided equally between the parties. The Mediator is paid immediately upon conclusion of the mediation session, usually by credit or debit card through the Square app. If the parties are present in their attorney's office for the mediation, then they may be able to pay by cash or check. The Mediator's current rate is $240 per hour.
